Covid-19 precautions

Masking Requirements

All personnel, regardless of vaccination status, shall be required to wear an appropriate face covering when in the Surgery Center Operating Rooms.  Appropriate physical distancing should be maintained in all areas of the practice when a facemask is not being worn.

All patients and visitors, two years of age and older and able to medically tolerate a face covering/mask, shall be required to wear a face covering/mask while in the Surgery Center Operating Rooms.

CDC recommendations regarding masking are based on the published CDC Community Transmission Levels for Clinton, Essex, and Franklin County and are as follows:

  1. 1. HIGH transmission rate – Masks required in all areas of the practice.
  2. 2. Substantial transmission rate – Masks are optional, but should be worn by anyone with illness or other respiratory symptoms, or who has had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the past 10 days.
  3. 3. Moderate transmission rate – Masks are optional, but should be worn by anyone with illness or other respiratory symptoms, or who has had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the past 10 days.
  4. 4. Low transmission rate – Masks are optional, but should be worn by anyone with illness or other respiratory symptoms, or who has had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the past 10 days.

Masking requirements in the facility, based on the above CDC recommendations, will be posted at all entrances of the facility to communicate to staff, patients, and visitors the current masking requirements

To Our Valued Patients, As we adjust our schedules and office flow to support recommendations by the CDC and the Department of Health, we ask for your patience and understanding as we move through different phases of reopening. Here’s what you can expect during this time:
  1. 1. Patients and staff will be required to wear masks (cloth or surgical) while in the office during office operational hours.
  2. 2. If you need assistance during your visit, we ask that the person who brings you in waits in his/her car until your appointment is over to help us limit the number of people in the clinic at any one time.
  3. 3. If you have a caregiver who needs to attend the visit with you, he or she will also need to wear a mask. Please inform staff if this is the case.
  4. 4. We will gather information through as many contactless ways as possible and will establish handwashing protocols for everyone.
  5. 5. We will communicate any additional changes as we move through this process and will continue to share information with you.
We look forward to seeing you. Sincerely, Eye Care for the Adirondacks
